SEO, in my mind, is a trigger word for SEO companies and alike to push services and fear to businesses.

Telling companies that to compete and survive in today’s business world you need a website and SEO! Or, your customers are online searching for your services, and they won’t be able to find you without a website and SEO.

And to be more obnoxious about it, they will tell you that you need to be on the first page of Google and we can get you there.

Fear and false hope tactics have been around since the beginning of understanding that a business needs marketing to sustain and grow. SEO and marketing companies know this and will typically abuse it to make a sale.

What most SEO and marketing companies don’t tell you is that with some patience, guidance, and consistency you can do far better then what any of their services offer in SEO and marketing for your company.

SEO isn’t hard to understand or to do, but doing it right and efficiently does take work and a clear understanding of your business ideas, where you want to be and the willingness to put forward the effort.

This is by no means to say that you need to do all the work yourself. It just means that building the base foundation of your marketing and SEO efforts on a 3rd party platform or company is not smart business.

What it does mean is that you, the business owner, needs a solid understanding of what SEO does and how it works. Empowering yourself with this kind of knowledge makes you dangerous and confident in finding quality and effect sources when deligating your marketing and SEO efforts for your business success.
